I wanted to make my own homemade tomato soup which was #82 on my list of things to do. Kara helped me out with a recipe.
I roasted onions, basil, and tomatoes in the oven for a while.
Then simmer it and puree the soup.
It tasted pretty good, but I was a bit turned off by the skin pieces that were still in my soup after blending. I want to make it again, this time I will first blanch the skins off the tomatoes and blend it up better.
I have this fascination with tortillas and have tried several recipes to get one that's easy to make and the tortillas turn out pliable. This fascination has even led to getting a better (smaller) rolling pin, a tortilla press, and a comel to cook them on.
This was the first batch that worked out pretty good and was halfway pliable.
I am still perfecting the art of tortilla making so I can have consistent results each time. It still counts as crossing off #96 from my 101 things in 1,001 days! Have I mentioned I like to cook?
I have just under two months left on my challenge. I don't know how many more items I can accomplish but I will make time over the next two months to get you all caught up on what I have been able to cross off the list.
