I got stranded today. In a downtown Phoenix parking garage.

First of all, I had taken a job downtown to interpret for a creative writing conference. When I had arrived at the hotel, the self-parking garage was under maintenance and the valet was full. No big deal, I just drove around the corner and found a parking garage. When I got back to the hotel and asked about this creative writing conference the desk clerk had no idea what I was talking about and I couldn't get a hold of my contact person. Fabulous... Finally I got a hold of my agency to find out it's not a creative writing conference after all but 'something about hair and color'. It turned out to be a hair show. I know the words 'hair show' can easily be misunderstood as creative writing. It happens to me all the time! Anyways, I digress, I found where I was supposed to go, replaced another interpreter who had to leave, and walked into a huge packed ballroom with stylists on stage working on models. The client was right next to the runway and the interpreter chair was backed up to the stage. When I finally switched with the 'on' interpreter and started interpreting, I couldn't see a thing since the lights flooding the stage were blinding. It was actually a lot of fun and when it was over, I even got a free bag of goodies.

I walked back to the garage and found my car. It wouldn't start. So I popped the hood and tried adjusting the battery cables to no avail. Good thing I have my hubby on speed dial. He agreed to come and rescue me. 20 minutes later he was driving around the parking garage looking for me. Pulling out his tool box, he went to work and within a couple of minutes had my car working again. He's so good to me. Thank you Hubs, you're the best!
