As I was arriving for a job downtown the other day I couldn't find anywhere to park. I drove around and couldn't find a visitors' lot so I parked in the back of the building. I grabbed my latest crochet project and stuffed it into my purse (you never know if you are going to have down time or not), got out of the car and started walking towards the building. As I left the lot I noticed a sign saying 'Employee parking only. All other cars will be towed at owner's expense' and at the same time I saw where the visitor's lot was cleverly hidden.
Well, since I arrived early enough I might as well move my car. So I turn around to go back to my car and to my dismay saw bright coral yarn coming from my purse and lying across the majority of the lot. My work-in-progress (WIP) had fallen out near my car which is at least 100 yards or so away from where I was but the skein of yarn managed to stay in my purse and quickly unwind as I walked.
Frantically, I started picking up the yarn off the parking lot making a tangled mess (I am sure the sight was quite entertaining) and went to move my car. My WIP was a bit dirty but can you imagine if I hadn't noticed and continued walking across the parking lot, into the front door, across the lobby, into the elevator, up to the second floor and into the classroom with coral yarn marking my trail? Not to mention what my poor project would have looked like after someone ran over it with their car? All the more reason to have a small dedicated project bag to carry with me at all times.

So-o-o funny -- I could totally envision this as if it were happening -- hilarious stuff! =)
