There is a sweet sense of contentment tonight. The house needs to be cleaned and my to-do list is ever growing but the Christmas decorations are up, there's a chill in the air and I am home. So much to be thankful for, I have been blessed. Of course there are other things I could want, but tonight I am satisfied with what God has done in my life and what He has given me.
Now if I could only keep this contentment throughout the day, every day, instead of wanting what God hasn't given.
I do love this time of year. It's cold enough (at times) to wear my lovely scarves and jackets, the air so crisp and clean, the smell of baking wafting from the oven, homemade ornaments, get-togethers with friends and family, the music, giving gifts, the lights and decorations, and re-focusing on the greatest gift of all, Jesus.

It's a reminder to sit
and listen
being still
before
the Holy God
our Creator
Our pastor has been emphasizing the importance of giving more relationally while spending less and then taking what we had budgeted and didn't use to give and bless someone else. It is my desire to reflect that attitude within our family towards those around us.
