Spring in the Desert

I have realized that I love beauty and anything beautiful; spring in the desert has to be one of the most beautiful sights I know.

Part 1:

It was such a gorgeous drive up the Beeline Highway. Everything was so green and there were numerous flowers, poppies and other wildflowers marking the landscape with brilliant yellows, oranges, pinks and purples. The sky was cloudy, just enough to make the colors even more vibrant. The mountains were stunning and some still had remnants of snow at the peaks.

I just drank in the beauty around me. The longer I drove the more I felt the grime of the city slip away; broken marriages, stressful jobs, unemployment, senseless killings and illness, faded hopes, loneliness, and bondage to debt. There is a God. I can tell by the beauty of the springtime in the desert, a wonderful treat instead of the dry and brown vistas most of the year. He cares enough for us to number the hairs on our head. While the feeling of being small and mortal was in my mind, I also felt very grateful and significant, that the Creator God would have created such a beautiful day for me to enjoy.

Part 2:
After last week's drive, I wanted to share it with Jeremy so today we went on the Bush highway past Sahuaro Lake. It was another gorgeous day and we took lots of pictures.
